CUTTING-EDGE RESEARCH – INNOVATIVE PATIENT CARE – EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR TOMORROW – OUTREACH TO OUR COMMUNITIES – POLICY ADVOCACIES

Our mission at University of Arizona Center of Aging (ACOA) is to promote long, healthy and functional lives for older adults through comprehensive programs in research, education and training, clinical care and community engagement.  We exist to improve quality of life and to extend the healthspan of older adults.

We seek to promote health and foster resilience in aging, and increase recognition of the unparalleled wisdom, energy and experience of older adults for the benefit of all the world. We believe that we can best accomplish our mission through equal collaboration among scientists, clinicians, educators, health policy leaders, and the community.

We strive to move fantastic discoveries from the lab to the community, and to bring questions and observations from real people into the lab where they can be solved. We provide geriatric education and training for health care professionals and care partners across the state to build a workforce that is prepared to provide the best of care for older adults. We develop new ways of delivering healthcare that promote independence and healthy aging. Finally, we are committed to share these essential discoveries in Tucson, Arizona, the United States and the world through education and outreach.
